Shop Jobie began when two women realized their joy and laughter could be shared with others as a shopping experience that included elegant and whimsical products. They are opposites: Debbie is artistic and creative yet techy whereas Jo is all business, and she’s known as a buyer who has a champagne taste with a beer budget.  Together the blend is perfect.  

The blend continued into naming the company. They both share “B” as the first initial of their last names, Debbie took the first and last two letters of their first names and blended it all to make Jobie. Creative, right? Adding “Shop” solidified the name and “Shop Jobie” was created!

As Debbie designed the website, secured the domain name, and did the techy stuff, Jo established the business entity in Washington State. After Debbie identified supplier partners, Jo went shopping to stock Shop Jobie’s virtual shelves.

   Debbie Baker is the co-founder of Shop Jobie, LLC and her primary roles are 1) systems & technology, and 2) graphic design and website management. Debbie brings an extensive background in all things tech plus her creative artistry is impressive. She works with chalk, pencil, pen & ink, paint, and digital.

Before Shop Jobie, Debbie spent 20 years creating a cloth doll line and marketing them at arts & crafts shows throughout the Midwest. Many of her designs were found in small boutiques across the USA. Currently, she is a respected Website Designer with over 100 active clients; some clients have been invited to be a part of Shop Jobie as suppliers, and a few of Debbie’s Primitive Dolls & Décor Patterns were added to the Handmade Collection.

Debbie lives in Missouri and has four adult children and five grandchildren including a few who inherited her artistic talents. She is converting her lower floor to an art studio with designated spaces for them to create!

   Jo Baumgartner is the co-founder of Shop Jobie, LLC and her primary roles are 1) business development/finance, and 2) buyer/marketing. Jo spent 40+ years in Corporate Real Estate and Staffing. Her career took her to all parts of the United where she improved housing quality for low-income residents and developed safety standards and protocols for residential managers and maintenance technicians.

After retiring in 2019 she found a great part-time opportunity as a front desk associate and marketing lead at a high-end day spa; loving the work, she still had too much time on her hands. Then she met Debbie.

For fun, Jo is the organizer of two Meetup groups: Lesbians 50+ Breakfast Club and the Seahawks Watch Party. She is also co-host (with Debbie) of Lesbian’s 45+ Let’s Talk, a Facebook group. She enjoys responsible gambling and occasional trips to Las Vegas and has 2 cats!

Shop Jobie is a small, woman-owned business. Our shipping center is much smaller than the large distribution facilities you may be used to. We are a boutique-style shop with personally curated, unique, elegant, and whimsical items. Due to this, our shipping takes longer. To provide you with the best price on our products, delivery time may range from 1 to 5 weeks, depending on the item. Thank you for your understanding.
